A gorgeous copy of a terrific Nancy Sinatra LP and easily the nicest copy we’ve ever seen. It looks like new.

All of these LPs had small print runs and were quickly deleted.

There is a 7″ EP with this same cover and title that is far more common than the LP, which rarely turns up for sale.

A nice copy of a rare Nancy Sinatra LP that is quite hard to find as a first pressing.

Offered for sale is a still sealed original U.S. mono pressing of September of My Years by Frank Sinatra.
While the shrink wrap has been removed from the cover, the record is still sealed in the plastic inner sleeve.
About this copy: This copy of September of My Years is a 1965 mono pressing on the Reprise label.
The cover is VG++ and close to M-, with slight foxing on the back cover and a small 1/2″ (1.25 cm) tear near the top edge on the back. There is a metal rivet in the cover in the upper left hand corner.
As the record is still sealed in the inner sleeve, it is presumably new and unplayed. The perforated “tear off” strip is completely intact.
A nice copy of a classic Sinatra LP that’s rather hard to find in mono.
Background: Released in 1965, September of My Years was the sixteenth album Sinatra released in the 1960s on his own Reprise label.
The album reached #5 on the U.S. album chart and won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
September of My Years is one of Frank Sinatra’s triumphs of the ’60s…. Gordon Jenkins’ rich, stately, and melancholy arrangements give the album an appropriate reflective atmosphere. Most of the songs are new or relatively recent numbers; every cut fits into a loose theme of aging, reflection, and regret. Sinatra, however, doesn’t seem stuck in his ways — though the songs are rooted in traditional pop, they touch on folk and contemporary pop. As such, the album offered a perfect summary, as well as suggesting future routes for the singer.

Offered for sale are two copies of the Japan-only LP Nancy by Nancy Sinatra, with each album including the original obi.
Note: The 10″ (30 cm) album was the first Nancy Sinatra LP to be released anywhere in the world and is a compilation of her first five singles, none of which charted in the U.S.
One copy is the original 1963 10″ mono 10 track version of the album.
The other is the original 1964 12″ stereo 12 track version of the album, which includes the two tracks from her sixth single.
About these copies: These copies of Nancy are the original Japanese releases, issued in 1963 and 1964, respectively.
Nancy – the 10″ LP (JET-4070, 1963) MONO
The cover is VG++, with a small tear in the lower left corner of the back, a bit of wear at the corners and a punch hole. The original (plain) paper sleeve is included.
The original obi is complete with no holes or tears. This LP was issued without an insert.
The disc is VG++ on side one, with just a couple of very faint sleeve scuffs. Side two is M-. This disc clearly has seen little play.
Nancy – the 12″ LP (SJET-7326, 1964) STEREO
The cover is VG+, with a few wrinkles and a disc impression in the thin, laminated cover but no wear. There’s a minor amount of foxing on the back cover, but no tears.
The obi is VG++, with slight foxing on the back, but no tears. This LP was issued without an insert.
The disc is VG++, and very close to M-, with just one or two very minor inaudible scuffs on each side. The disc has likely only been played once or twice.
A gorgeous set of two records that are nearly impossible to find with the obi. We’ve seen the 10″ sell for $600 without the obi, and we’ve never seen the 12″ version at all. The 12″ version is not listed at Discogs.
Background: While Nancy Sinatra had a number of hits starting with “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” in 1965, she’d actually been releasing singles, largely without success, since 1961.
Her first ten singles went unnoticed in the United States, and the eleventh, “So Long, Babe,” only reached #86 on the charts.
She was more successful in Japan, however. In fact, she was so successful that in 1963, her Japanese label, Reprise Records, released a ten-inch LP containing the A and B sides of her first five singles.
As far as we know, this ten inch LP was the first Nancy Sinatra album to be released anywhere in the world.
Tracks on the ten inch LP:
I See The Moon
Tonight You Belong To me
You Can Have Any Boy
Cuff Kinks And A Tie Clip
Not Just A Friend
Like I Do
To Know Him Is To Love Him
Put Your Head On My Shoulder
Think Of Me
June, July And August
The 12″ version of the album was released in 1964 and includes all of the songs above, plus both sides of Nancy’s 1963 sixth single:
One Way
Cruel War
These albums did not sell particularly well and were soon deleted. As far as we know, these LPs were released only in Japan, and have never been reissued in Japan or anywhere else.
You can listen to her first single, “Cuff Links and a Tie Clip” here:
Offered for sale is an original pressing of the Japan-only compilation LP Pure Gold by Nancy Sinatra, including the rare “corner” obi.
About this copy: This copy of Pure Gold is an original 1975 Japanese issue on the RCA label.
The cover is M-, aside from a tiny tear in the lower right hand corner. The cover still has the original shrink wrap.
This copy had an unusual obi in that it folds over a corner of the cover, rather than wrapping around it. The obi is M-.
The insert is M-.
The disc is M- and looks unplayed. A nice copy of a rare Nancy Sinatra LP and the only copy of this one that we’ve ever seen.
Background: Released in 1975, Pure Gold was one of a number of compilation LPs by Nancy Sinatra that were released in Japan, as she was quite popular there.
Offered for sale is an original red vinyl copy of the 1964 Japan-only LP The Hits of Frank Sinatra, including the original “hankake” obi, also known as a “half-obi.”
About this copy: This copy of The Hits of Frank Sinatra is an original 1964 Japanese pressing on the Capitol label, pressed on “Everclean” red vinyl.
The cover is M-, with a couple of tiny corner dents.
The ultra-rare obi is M-. The original “envelope-style” inner sleeve is M-.
This LP was issued without a lyric insert.
The red vinyl disc is M- with a couple of faint scuffs from the original paper inner sleeve and appears to have only been played once or twice.
The disc does have a very minor dish warp; we almost missed it. It does not affect the play of either side of the disc in any way.
A gorgeous copy of an ultra-rare Sinatra LP.
Background: Released in 1964, The Hits of Frank Sinatra was a collection of songs from Sinatra’s Capitol years that was prepared especially for the Japanese market.
The album was only in print for a short time, and as far as we know has never been reissued.
What makes this copy very unusual is that it includes the ultra-rare “hankake obi”, also known as a “half obi” or a “three quarter obi.”
Most Japanese albums issued since the late 1950s have included an obi, or sash, a paper strip that ran vertically around the cover, offering information for the Japanese buyer that was not included on the LP cover itself.
Many buyers discarded the obi when they got home from the record store, and as a result, many albums from the 1950s through the 1970s are quite hard to find with the obi intact.
For a brief time, from late 1963 through early 1964, Toshiba Records, who pressed albums for Liberty, Capitol, Warner Brothers and a few other labels, used what is known as a “hankake obi”. Instead of wrapping around the cover, this obi was a single strip of paper about nine inches long that simply hooked over the top of the cover via a 1/4″ fold of paper.
Usually, these were glued to the cover at the factory, but most of the time, they were quickly lost. It is also possible that retailers removed them at the point of sale so that they could use it to order another copy from the record company.
Tracks on The Hits of Frank Sinatra are:
All The Way
Isle Of Capri
Around The World
Chicago
Brazil
I Love Paris
Blue Hawaii
September Song
Autumn Leaves
Witchcraft
Blue Moon
Sentimental Journey
My Blue Heaven
High Hopes

Matrix numbers are:

A beautiful copy of a classic Sinatra LP and likely to be your final upgrade.
Background: By 1955, Frank Sinatra had left Columbia Records and was starting to see success at Capitol. Columbia took advantage of that success and reissued material that Sinatra had recorded in the late 1940s and early 1950s for the label; The Voice was probably the best and most critically-acclaimed of those albums.
Most of the Sinatra recordings available during the 1950s consisted of his contemporary work for Capitol Records. But every so often his former label, Columbia Records, would get something together on LP from among his ’40s and early-’50s sides. The Voice was one of a handful of ’50s long-players showcasing the first phase of Sinatra’s solo career, and at the time it wowed listeners — the focus is on the ballads, and the dozen represented here constitute a bumper crop of classics, all resplendent in the singer’s richest, most overpowering intonation and most delicately nuanced work. … The Columbia material tended to get neglected, both in the marketplace and most listeners’ minds, as his career extended over the decades, but hearing The Voice anew is a reminder of just how overpowering Sinatra’s sound could be, even in the early phase of his solo work.
