Offered for sale is a limited edition yellow vinyl copy of the 1978 2 LP set, Greatest Hits by Steely Dan, issued in Canada in 1979.
About this copy: This copy of Steely Dan’s Greatest Hits is a limited edition yellow vinyl pressing from Canada, issued in 1978 or 1979.
The cover is VG, with moderate ring wear and wear at the edges and corners. The cover retains the hype sticker that says “Limited Edition Coloured Vinyl.” Unlike many copies of this LP, this cover has no cutout holes.
The two yellow vinyl discs are M- and appear to be unplayed.
A nice copy of a terrific album.
Background: Steely Dan’s Greatest Hits was released in 1979, and offered material from their first six albums, as well as the then-new single “Here at the Western World.” Greatest hits LPs aren’t usually on most people’s radar, as they don’t always sound that great, but this album is an exception.
Greatest Hits was mastered using original tapes, rather than copies of copies, and in the case of Steely Dan, the original master tapes from their 1970s albums were lost or accidentally destroyed in the mid-1980s. As such, Greatest Hits is a pretty nice album to have in your collection, as it does sound terrific.
