An early Japanese pressing of the Kingston Trio's 1963 LP New Frontier, pressed on red vinyl and including the obi.
Offered for sale is an early, and possibly original, Japanese pressing of the Kingston Trio’s 1963 LP, New Frontier, pressed on red vinyl and including the obi.
While the Kingston Trio were enormously popular in America, they sold very few albums in Japan, and their records are quite scarce there. This copy of New Frontier, featuring the hit single “Greenback Dollar” is a beautiful example of one of their better-selling LPs.
You can listen to “Greenback Dollar” here:
About this copy: This pressing of New Frontier is from 1965, with the white obi with blue print and it may represent the original Japanese issue of this 1963 LP. The cover is VG++, with just the faintest traces of wear.
The red vinyl disc is VG++, with very faint sleeve scuffs. This record has clearly been played only a few times, though it does have a bit of surface noise, as is common with these red vinyl pressings.
The obi is M-, and the “hojyuhyo”, or reorder tag, is still attached. The original English lyric insert is included.
A beautiful copy of a very rare folk record.
