Description
Offered for sale is an original Japanese pressing of Sonny’s Time by Sonny Rollins, including the nearly-always-missing original obi.
About this copy: This copy of Sonny’s Time is an original 1962 pressing on the Riverside label.
The cover is VG++, with faint wear on the back cover. The obi is M-; the “hojyuhyo,” or reorder tag, is still attached.
This LP has no insert. We cannot be sure, but we suspect that it did not include one when new, as the back cover has information that would ordinarily be included on the insert.
The disc is M- and looks like it might have been played once. Beautiful disc!
A terrific copy of a very rare Sonny Rollins LP.
Background: Released in 1962, Sonny’s Time was a compilation of tracks taken from four albums originally released in 1957:
Various Artists – Blues For Tomorrow (RLP-243)
Sonny Rollins – The Sound Of Sonny (RLP-241)
Kenny Dorham – Jazz Contrasts (RLP-239)
