About this copy: This copy of Bags & Trane is a 1962 Japanese pressing on the “bullseye” Atlantic label of an album that was originally released in 1961.
The flipback cover is VG++ and close to M- with a couple of minor creases near the spine. The obi is M-. The original envelope-style paper inner sleeve is M-.
This LP was issued without an insert.
The disc is VG+, with a couple of faint scuffs from the paper inner sleeve, but no significant marks on the vinyl. There are no spindle marks on the labels; the LP has likely only been played a couple of times. Clean disc!
A beautiful copy of a very good Jazz LP that’s almost impossible to find complete.
Background: Recorded in 1959 and released in 1961, Bags & Trane is the only collaboration between vibrophonist Milt Jackson and saxophonist John Coltrane.

With fine backup by pianist Hank Jones, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Connie Kay, Bags and Trane stretch out on two of Jackson’s originals (including “The Late Late Blues”) and three standards: a romping “Three Little Words,” “The Night We Called It a Day,” and the rapid “Be-Bop.”
