Description
Offered for sale is a rare complete red vinyl copy of the Japan-only compilation Kingston Trio Deluxe by the Kingston Trio, including the original obi.
About this copy: This copy of Kingston Trio Deluxe is an original 1966 Japanese pressing on the Capitol label.
The cover is M- on the outside, and VG++ on the inside, as the inside of the gatefold cover has a bit of foxing.
The obi is M-. The “hojyuhyo,” or reorder tag, is still attached.
The lyric insert is M-. Also included is the original “envelope-style” paper inner sleeve.
The disc, pressed on “Everclean” red vinyl, is M-, and may be unplayed. We noted a very faint single scuff on side one, but there are no other marks of any kind on the LP and no spindle marks on the label.
A nice copy of a terrific Kingston Trio collection.
Background: While they sold a lot of records in the United States, the Kingston Trio were not particularly popular in Japan, as the American folk movement of the 1960s never really caught on there.
Because of this, the group’s studio albums sold poorly in Japan and the few fans they had were generally content to buy one of several Japan-only compilation albums by the group, such as this one.
