Background: In 1977, Emerson, Lake & Palmer released Works, their first LP in more than three years. They went on tour to promote the album, and On Tour With Emerson, Lake & Palmer was issued to radio stations by their label, Atlantic Records, to promote interest in the album and the tour.
The album features interviews with the band, and included two tracks that were unreleased at the time – “Tiger in a Spotlight,” which showed up on the Works II LP, and an orchestral version of “Abaddon’s Bolero,” which had been recorded for Works but was ultimately not used on the album.
