Description
Offered for sale is a Japanese white label promotional pressing of Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan, including the original obi and an alternate take of “From a Buick 6.” The cover is still in the original shrink wrap.
While the alternate version of that song with the “harmonica intro” was accidentally pressed on the first issue of the U.S. LP and subsequently withdrawn, all Japanese pressings of the album contain the alternate take.
About this copy: This copy of Highway 61 Revisited is a 1974 pressing on the CBS/Sony label of an album that was originally released in 1965.
The cover is VG++ and close to M- with a small stain at the lower right hand corner where the shrink wrap has been torn away. A small number “6” has been written in a corner on the back cover.
The obi is VG++ with slight fading. The 8 page lyric/photo booklet is M-.
The disc is M- with a couple of very faint sleeve scuffs. There are no spindle marks on the labels; the record may be unplayed.. Clean disc!
A beautiful copy of a classic LP.
Background: Bob Dylan’s 1965 LP, Highway 61 Revisited turned a lot of heads, and Dylan’s new electric approach caught a lot of listeners by surprise. This album contains numerous well-known songs, from the title track to Like a Rolling Stone to From a Buick 6.
The album reached #3 on the U.S. album chart.
