Description
Offered for sale is a copy of an unauthorized limited edition multicolored vinyl pressing of They Sing…They Swing by the Del Vikings.
This copy features black, clear, yellow, green, and red vinyl.
About this copy: This copy of They Sing…They Swing is an unauthorized reissue of a 1957 LP that came out sometime around 1980. This is one of a very limited number of copies that were pressed on multicolored vinyl.
The LP is a nice facsimile of the original Mercury pressing, though all original pressings were pressed on black vinyl.
The cover is VG+ with slight ring wear and wear at the corners.
The multicolored vinyl disc is M-, with a couple of spindle marks on the labels, but no marks on the vinyl. It’s a clean disc that appears to have only been played once or twice.
A beautiful copy of a scarce (and pretty good) doo wop LP.
Background: Released in 1957, They Sing…They Swing was the debut LP by the Del Vikings, an innovative vocal group that was groundbreaking for their time in that they were integrated.
This was the first of three albums that the group recorded for Mercury Records; chart information is unknown.
They Sing…They Swing was one of a number of doo wop and vocal LPs that were reissued in 1980 on multicolored vinyl by an unknown manufacturer.
