Description
Offered for sale is an original U.S. mono copy of the 1966 LP Over Under Sideways Down by the Yardbirds.
Mono pressings of this LP have significantly different mixes than the stereo pressings.
About this copy: The copy offered for sale is a 1966 mono U.S. pressing on the Epic label.
The cover is VG+ with slight ring wear, but no splits. A former owner, “RON,” has written his name on the front cover.
The mono disc is VG++ with a couple of light hairlines and a few spindle marks on the labels. Clean disc!
A nice copy of a classic LP that’s hard to find in mono.
Background: While Over Under Sideways Down was the Yardbirds’ third LP released in the United States, the album (with a different title and slight track changes) was the band’s first studio LP be released in Britain. For our money, it’s their best effort and one of the best rock LPs by any band of the 1960s.
It’s also the band’s only album with Jeff Beck playing on all tracks.
The mono and stereo versions of this album contain different mixes, and part of the stereo version is in rechanneled stereo.
The album peaked at #51 on the Billboard albums chart, though the UK version reached #20 on the British charts.
Like most of the band’s albums, Over Under Sideways Down wasn’t in print very long, for whatever reason, they’re surprisingly hard to find in playable condition.
