About this copy: This copy of Mixed Bag is a 1970 pressing on the MGM label of an album that was originally released in 1966 on the Verve/Forecast label.

The disc is M- and appears to have had little, if any play.
A nice copy of a classic LP.
Background: Released in 1966, Mixed Bag was the debut LP by singer-songwriter Richie Havens.
The album reached #182 on the U.S. album charts, likely reaching that position in 1970 after Havens’ appearance in the Woodstock film.
Allmusic.com gave Mixed Bag a 4 1/2 star review:
Richie Havens’ finest recording, Mixed Bag captures the essence of his music and presents it in an attractive package that has held up well. A close listen to lyrics like “I Can’t Make It Anymore” and “Morning, Morning” reveals sadness and loneliness, yet the music is so appealingly positive that a listener actually comes away feeling uplifted. In fact, on most of the songs on this album, it’s the sound of Havens’ distinctive voice coupled with his unusual open-E guitar tuning, rather than the specific lyrical content of the songs, that pulls the listener in.
