Description
Offered for sale is a still sealed Japanese pressing of Miles in Berlin by Miles Davis, complete with original “cap” obi.
About this copy: This copy of Miles in Berlin is a 1981 Japanese issue of an album that was originally released in 1965.
As the album is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The wrap is fully intact with no rips, tears, or holes. There is a hype sticker on the wrap promoting the “Miles at 25” series of then-current Japanese pressings.
A nice copy of a highly regarded jazz LP.
Background: Originally released in 1965, Miles in Berlin was the first live album by Davis to feature Wayne Shorter in the band.
Allmusic.com gave Miles in Berlin a 4 1/2 star review:
Recorded live in Germany at the Berlin Philharmonic, Miles in Berlin represents the first recording of trumpeter Miles Davis with tenor saxophonist Wayne Shorter. ..Eventually known as the “second great quintet,” most of the players here, including pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Tony Williams, had been with Davis for just under a year. In that time, they had taken his traditional repertoire of standards and originals and reworked them with a more adventurous, edgy approach that flirted with the avant-garde.
