Offered for sale is a copy of Guard Session, a 1966 U.S. promotional radio show promoting the U.S. National Guard, featuring music and interviews with Julie London.

About this copy: This copy of Guard Session is a 1966 U.S. release, issued by the U.S. government to promote the U.S. National Guard.

The album consists of four music and interview segment and a commercial for the U.S. National Guard.  Each segment runs 14-15 minutes.

This album was issued without a cover; we’ll provide a generic one.  A photocopy of the original cue sheet is included.

The mono disc is VG, with few light marks and some scuffing from the original paper inner sleeve.  The broadcast dates (from April, 1966) have been written on the labels in blue ballpoint pen.

A nice copy of a rare Julie London LP; this one isn’t even listed at Discogs.

Background:  Guard Session was a relatively short-lived radio show that aired in the mid-1960s, promoting the U.S. National Guard.

Artists featured in the series included Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin, Skitch Henderson, Peggy Lee, Stan Kenton and others.
