Description
Offered for sale is a still sealed U.S. CD-4 quadraphonic pressing of Court and Spark by Joni Mitchell.
Note: This quadraphonic LP will play on any stereo turntable, but will have a different mix from the regular stereo pressing.
About this copy: This copy of Court and Spark is a 1974 U.S. pressing on the Asylum label. This pressing is encoded in the CD-4 quadraphonic format.
As the album is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The wrap is fully intact with no rips, tears, or holes except at the lower right hand corner where there is a large saw mark in the cover.
A nice copy of a terrific (and great-sounding) LP and the only quadraphonic copy we’ve ever had for sale.
Background: Court and Spark, the sixth solo album by Canadian singer Joni Mitchell, was her biggest-selling album ever, reaching #2 on the American albums chart with the help of two Top 20 singles – “Fee Man in Paris,” and “Help Me.”
Allmusic.com gave Court and Spark a 5 star review:
Joni Mitchell reached her commercial high point with Court and Spark, a remarkably deft fusion of folk, pop, and jazz which stands as her best-selling work to date. … Much of Court and Spark is devoted to wary love songs: both the title cut and “Help Me,” the record’s most successful single, carefully measure the risks of romance, while “People’s Parties” and “The Same Situation” are fraught with worry and self-doubt (standing in direct opposition to the music, which is smart, smooth, and assured from the first note to the last).
