Allmusic.com gave Chris Connor Sings Lullabys of Birdland a 4 star review:
This (album) draws its music from singer Chris Connor’s first three sessions as a leader. Connor, who was 26 at this time, is in top form in all of the different settings and displays a wider range than one might expect. Highlights include “Lullaby of Birdland,” “Spring Is Here,” “Ask Me,” “A Cottage for Sale” and a rare vocal version of “Goodbye.”
