Offered for sale is a still sealed limited edition 12″ picture disc of the single “Werewolves of London”/”Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner” by Warren Zevon, issued only as a promotional item.

About this copy: This copy of “Werewolves of London” is a 12″ picture disc single, issued in 1978 on the Asylum label.

As the cover is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.

The wrap is fully intact, with no rips, tears or holes.  There is a bend in the lower left-hand corner and a couple of very minor corner dents.

A nice copy of a scarce picture disc.

Background: “Werewolves of London” was the lead single from Warren Zevon’s third solo album, Excitable Boy, and the song was his highest-charting single ever, reaching #21 on the Billboard singles chart.

To promote the single, Asylum Records pressed a few hundred copies as a 12″ picture disc; these were issued only to radio stations and were not offered for sale.
