Offered for sale is an original UK pressing of the double album Freudiana.

This double album is credited to “Various,” though the release is generally regarded as an Alan Parsons Project album.

About this copy: This copy of Freudiana is a 1990 UK pressing on the EMI label.

The cover is VG+ with no wear, but with a 3″ (8 cm) repaired split at the top of each pocket.  This copy came that way from the factory.

The custom inner sleeves are M-.

Sides one, three and four are M- and look unplayed.  Side two is VG++ with a minor sleeve scuff, but otherwise looks unplayed.

A nice copy of a rare (and very good) Alan Parsons LP.

Background: Released in 1990, Freudiana was intended to be an Alan Parsons Project release, but disagreements between Alan Parsons and longtime collaborator Eric Woolfson led to the album being released with no artist listed on the cover.  The labels show “Various” as the artist.

As far as we can tell, the album did not chart anywhere. gave Freudiana a 4 star review:

Back in the ’70s, engineer/producer Alan Parsons wanted to dedicate an entire album to fantasy writer Edgar Allan Poe. He hired numerous musicians and singers to help him in what would become the first album of the Alan Parsons Project. Initially meant to be a one-time experience, the “project” turned into a full-time band, and quite a successful one, with that. Some two decades later, Eric Woolfson, Parsons’ long-time companion, puts up his own project. This time, it is not about Poe but about Freud. The subsequent band and album are both named Freudiana, as is one of the tracks. And of course, the whole is produced by — who else — Alan Parsons himself. The result is a concept album which offers — to quote the liner notes: “an image of the composer seen through a Freudian mirror.” …Unlike Parsons’ Poe project, Freudiana did not lead to any follow-up albums. Probably because this project was too obscure and unsuccessful. A pity.
