Offered for sale is a still sealed U.S. pressing of Crossroads by Tracy Chapman.
This LP was pressed for and released by the BMG record club.
About this copy: This copy of Crossroads is an original 1989 U.S. pressing on the Elektra label.
As the album is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The wrap is fully intact, with no rips, tears or holes.
There is a small box on the back cover that says, “Mfd. for BMG Direct Marketing, Inc. Under License.”
A virtually perfect copy of an album that is very hard to find on vinyl.
Background: Released in late 1989, Crossroads was the second studio album by Tracy Chapman, and her final album to be released in the vinyl LP format.
The album reached #9 on the U.S. album chart and reached #1 in the UK, despite the lack of a hit single, as “Crossroads” only reached #90 on the U.S. singles chart.
Tracy Chapman’s self-titled debut album of 1988 was an incredibly tough act to follow, but the folk-rocker delivered an inspired sophomore effort with Crossroads. While it falls short of the excellence of her stunning debut, Crossroads is a heartfelt, honest offering that’s well worth obtaining.
