About this copy: This copy of Force Majeure is a limited edition pressing on clear vinyl, issued in the UK from the time of the album’s initial 1979 release. Subsequent pressings were on black vinyl.
The cover is M- , with a tiny bend on one corner. A hype sticker is attached that says, “It’s a Clear Cut.”
The disc is M-, and looks unplayed.
A beautiful copy of a terrific album.
Background: After a series of somewhat ambient, sequencer-driven albums through the mid-1970s, Tangerine Dream got a bit more rock oriented for 1979’s Force Majeure.
AllMusic.com gave Force Majeure 4 1/2 stars:
Although Tangerine Dream is usually associated with synthesizers and the ambient movement that followed over a decade after such albums as Phaedra, Stratosfear, and Rubycon were recorded, Force Majeure shows the band displaying its roots in space rock. This time around, guitar and drums (played by Klaus Krieger) are as prominent as the keyboards. … An absolute necessity to those who might be at all curious about the band, or even successful experiments within the rock genre.
