About this copy: This copy of Where I’m Coming From is a 1975 Japanese pressing of an album that was originally released in 1971.
The cover is VG+, with slight corner and edge wear. There is a repaired 2″ split on the bottom edge in the center of the cover.
The two obi are VG++, with a bit of foxing; the larger one has a repaired tear at the bottom edge.
No insert is included; we don’t know if this album was issued with an insert or not.
The disc is M- and looks unplayed.
A beautiful copy of a rare and underrated Stevie Wonder LP.
Background: Released in 1971, Where I’m Coming From was the fifteenth album by Stevie Wonder. The album reached #62 on the U.S. charts, helped by the #8 single, “If You Really Love Me.”

One month before he turned 21, Stevie Wonder released Where I’m Coming From, the most distinctive record of his young career, and one that looked forward — in its breadth of material as well as its futuristic production aesthetic — to his many successes later in the ’70s. There’s a fabulous song here for nearly every type of fan; … Stevie summoning his purest register to convey heartbreak and hopefulness, respectively, in equal measure. For all the great material included, there was little chance of these songs hanging together as a proper album, and Berry Gordy’s misgivings about releasing a record like this on a Motown label were, temporarily, well-placed. Still, Where I’m Coming From was a frequently astonishing album from Motown’s new genius of the recording studio.
