A nice copy of a pretty good instrumental LP.
Background: Released in 1969 on the Stax subsidiary label Volt, With A Little Help From My Friends was the first solo album by Booker T & the MGs guitarist (and later Blues Brothers member) Steve Cropper.
The album did not chart.
After years of being a team player, Steve Cropper got to make a solo album for the label he helped put on the map, Stax Records (actually their Volt subsidiary). As you might figure, it turned out as an instrumental soul album, and a darn good one, too. … A solid and soulful little side project that holds up quite well years later.
