Description

Offered for sale is a still sealed U.S. copy of the 1979 double album Steely Dan’s Greatest Hits by Steely Dan.

The small “CRC” in the lower right-hand corner of the back cover indicates that this particular copy was released through the Columbia Record Club.

About this copy: This copy of Steely Dan’s Greatest Hits is an original U.S. pressing on the ABC label.

The wrap is fully intact, with no rips, tears, or holes.

A beautiful copy of a terrific LP that almost never turns up sealed.

Background: Steely Dan’s Greatest Hits was released in 1979, and offered material from their first six albums, as well as the then-new single “Here at the Western World.” Greatest hits LPs aren’t usually on most people’s radar, as they don’t always sound that great, but this album is an exception.

Greatest Hits was mastered using original tapes, rather than copies of copies, and in the case of Steely Dan, the original master tapes from their 1970s albums were lost or accidentally destroyed in the mid-1980s. As such, Greatest Hits is a pretty nice album to have in your collection, as it does sound terrific.
