Offered for sale is an original still sealed mono U.S. pressing of Gimme Some Lovin’ by the Spencer Davis Group.

Mono copies of this LP are relatively rare, as most copies were sold in stereo, and the stereo pressings were in rechanneled, or “fake” stereo, making the mono copies the more desirable pressings.

About this copy: This copy of Gimme Some Lovin’ is an original 1967 U.S. issue on the United Artists label.

As this album is sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.

The wrap is fully intact with no rips, tears or holes.  This copy has no cutout marks, such as saw marks, cut corners, or punch holes.

There is slight foxing on the back cover under the wrap, but it’s quite modest.

A nearly perfect copy of a pretty good LP.

Background: Released in 1967, Gimme Some Lovin’ was the debut U.S. LP by the Spencer Davis Group, a band that featured future Traffic and Blind Faith member Steve Winwood.

The album reached #54 on the U.S. album chart.   The LP, which was released only in the U.S. and Canada, contained tracks from the band’s first three UK albums:

  • Their First LP
  • The Second Album
  • Autumn ’66 gave Gimme Some Lovin’ a 3 star review:

The band’s first American LP, issued more than two years after they had put out their first British recordings, consisted of a dozen tracks selected from various U.K. mid-’60s sessions. It was a reasonable enough introduction to the band for those who hadn’t heard most of those, an audience, which, at the time, included virtually all Americans.
