Offered for sale is a limited edition picture disc version of the 1984 LP Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein, including a bonus promo-only 7″ EP with picture sleeve.
Shel Silverstein (1930-1999) was a jack-of-all-trades: He was a writer, singer, poet, cartoonist, and songwriter. He won multiple Grammy awards, had an Academy Award nomination and drew cartoons for Playboy. He also wrote children’s poetry, and won awards for that.
Where the Sidewalk Ends is an album where Silverstein reads, sings and shouts his poetry from the book of the same name. It was briefly available as a picture disc edition shortly after the release of the original album in 1984.
About this copy: This copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends is an original 1984 issue picture disc edition of the album of the same name.
Plastic cover and disc are M-; it’s likely that the record is unplayed. The disc has discolored over time; this seems to be the case with every copy of this disc. The cover includes the original hype sticker.
Also included as a bonus is a 7″ EP containing excerpts from the album. This EP includes a picture sleeve (see photo) and was released for promotional use only. Sleeve is VG+, with some wrinkling at the top. The record (not shown) is M-.
A nice copy of a scarce picture disc.
