Offered for sale is a copy of the scarce 1968 compilation LP The Man Who Invented Soul by Sam Cooke.
About this copy: This copy is an original 1968 stereo pressing, on the black RCA label with the dog at the top.
The cover is VG++, and retains the original shrink wrap, though the wrap is a torn in places. There is faint wear at the corners.
The disc is VG++, and very close to M-. It has a few faint scuffs as though it’s been in and out of the sleeve a couple of times, but otherwise shows no signs of play.
A nice copy of a terrific LP.
Background: The Man Who Invented Soul, released in 1968, was one of a number of compilation LPs that RCA released in the 1960s in the aftermath of Cooke’s death.
The album contained no new material and did not reach the album charts.
