Offered for sale is an original U.S. still sealed mono pressing of Lonely Blue Nights With Rosie by Rosie Hamlin, lead singer of Rosie and the Originals.
About this copy: This copy of Lonely Blue Nights With Rosie is an original 1962 mono pressing on the Brunswick label.
As the album is still sealed in the original loose wrap, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The wrap is fully intact except for a 1″ hole in the lower right hand corner on the back and a 4″ split in the wrap in the center of the spine.
The cover appears to be M-. A beautiful copy of an album that is almost never seen sealed, as most albums in the early 1960s were sold without wrap. This copy was likely wrapped by a retailer.
Background: Released in 1962 on the heels of the Rosie and the Originals hit “Angel Baby,” which reached #5 on the U.S. singles charts, Lonely Blue Nights with Rosie was the only album released by Rosie Hamlin during her lifetime.
There’s some dispute as to whether this is a Rosie Hamlin album or a Rosie and the Originals album, as the cover and the label are only credited to “Rosie,” and the liner notes only mention the Originals in passing. Crediting the album simply to “Rosie” likely did not help sales, as the album failed to chart, as did the title track when released as a single.
