Big Hits, High Tide and Green Grass was the first Rolling Stones compilation released in the United States, and at the time of its release in 1966, the album was issued in both stereo and mono. Many of the tracks on the stereo version were in rechanneled, or “fake” stereo, making the mono version the more desirable pressing. While the stereo pressing remained in print for decades, the mono pressing was deleted in 1968 when the record companies phased out all mono pressings.
About this copy: This copy, pressed by Columbia Records, is still sealed in its original plastic inner sleeve. These sleeves could be opened by removing a perforated tab, but this one has never been opened. While the shrink wrap has been removed from the cover, the record is new, unopened, and unplayed.
The cover is in beautiful VG++ condition, with only traces of wear at the corners.
A beautiful, still sealed copy of an album that can be quite difficult to find in mono in anything resembling good condition.
