Offered for sale is a stereo copy of Prokofiev – Lieutenant Kije – Stravinsky – Song Of The Nightingale by Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony, released by RCA records in 1958.

About this copy: The copy offered for sale is an original stereo pressing of the album on RCA, LSC-2150, though not a first pressing.  Stamper numbers are 24S/19S.  The record is a very clean VG++, with just a couple of very slight marks.  The cover is VG+, with a repaired 3″ seam split on the top.

A nice copy of a great record.

Background: There are numerous recordings by Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony that are highly regarded by fans of classical music as well as audiophiles.  One of the most appreciated titles is the 1958 recording of Prokofiev’s Lt. Kije, and Stravinsky’s Song of the Nightingale.  The album has been listed on the recommended list by the music publication The Absolute Sound for years, and for good reason – it’s an amazing recording.
