Description

Offered for sale is an original Japanese pressing of Live Killers by Queen, pressed with one red vinyl disc and one green vinyl disc, and including the original obi.

About this copy: This copy of Live Killers is an original 1979 Japanese pressing, issued as a limited edition with one red vinyl disc and one green vinyl disc.  Later pressings were pressed on black vinyl.

The cover is VG+ with slight edge and corner wear.  This cover is better than most, as this album usually has cover problems.

The obi is VG+, with slight wear at the bottom edge.  The lyric insert is M-.

The original custom inner sleeves are included (one red, one green) and are M-.

The two colored vinyl discs are M- with a couple of spindle marks on the labels, but no marks on the vinyl.  Beautiful discs!

A nice copy of a terrific Queen LP and one that we rarely have in stock for very long.

Background: Live Killers was released in March 1979 and was a success on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching #3 on the UK charts and #16 in the U.S.

Allmusic.com gave Live Killers a 3 star review:

(Live Killers)… is an excellent document of Queen at the height of their ’70s arena rock powers. Including selections from their debut, 1973’s Queen, up until 1978’s Jazz, the album is a solid mix of early hits and forgotten album tracks, all given new life in the concert setting while the zealous crowd often sings along. A different, more up-tempo version of “We Will Rock You” opens the album, starting things off in grand style. Other hard rock highlights soon follow, such as “Keep Yourself Alive,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Now I’m Here,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Spread Your Wings,” “Brighton Rock” (complete with an outstanding Brian May guitar solo), and a medley that contains such tracks as “Killer Queen” and “Bicycle Race,” among others.
