A nice copy of an album that’s hard to find as a quad vinyl pressing.
Background: The Dark Side of the Moon was Pink Floyd’s eighth album and it’s the one that made them superstars. Reaching #1 in the U.S. and #2 in the UK, the album is one of the biggest selling albums in history.
While the album topped the U.S. charts for only one week, it spent 741 weeks in the U.S. top 200 – fifteen years.
The Dark Side of the Moon was one of three Pink Floyd albums to be remixed for quadraphonic in the mid-1970s, along with Wish You Were Here and Atom Heart Mother.
By condensing the sonic explorations of Meddle to actual songs and adding a lush, immaculate production to their trippiest instrumental sections, Pink Floyd inadvertently designed their commercial breakthrough with Dark Side of the Moon. …Pink Floyd may have better albums than Dark Side of the Moon, but no other record defines them quite as well as this one.
