Allmusic.com gave Songs for Swingin’ Sellers a 4 1/2 star review:
Not all that music-oriented, despite the title. Which is no big deal, as this contains some of his best sketches. These include a spot-on parody of a BBC critics’ roundtable, an interview with a typically foul-mouthed writer, a straight-faced description of an incomprehensible play, and a lengthy pick-up sequence with the talented comedienne Irene Handl.
