Description
Offered for sale is an original U.S. stereo pressing of The Paris Sisters Sing Everything Under the Sun by the Paris Sisters.
While the disc is a stock copy, the front cover has a sticker that says “PROMOTION – NOT FOR SALE”
About this copy: This copy of The Paris Sisters Sing Everything Under the Sun is a 1967 U.S. stereo pressing on the Reprise label.
The cover is VG+ with light general wear.
The disc is M- with a couple of faint sleeve scuffs. There is a “haze” on the surface of the vinyl from a chemical reaction with the paper inner sleeve that is common to mid-1960s Reprise LPs. This does not affect the play.
A nice copy of a rare pop LP.
Background: Best known for the Phil Spector-produced single “I Love How You Love Me,” the Paris Sisters released dozens of singles between 1954 and 1968, but they only released three albums, and they are all rare.
The best known of these is The Paris Sisters Sing Everything Under the Sun, produced by Jack Nitzsche and Jimmy Bowen. Backed by the Wrecking Crew, the album has a definite “Wall of Sound” feel to it.
Allmusic.com gave The Paris Sisters Sing Everything Under the Sun a 4 star review:
The Paris Sisters’ last official album, originally released on Reprise in 1966, was their crowning achievement. Alas, it was also ignored completely by the record-buying public, despite the fact that each of its ten songs was crafted as a potential single with mass appeal specifically in mind … The sound is excellent and the songs are so beautiful that one can overlook the 26-minute running time, and the thorough annotation by Greg Adams is worth the full price being asked for the disc.
