Background: The unexpected death of Nat “King” Cole in 1965 from lung cancer inspired record companies around the world to re-release a lot of his material to eager buyers, and that was just as true in Japan as it was in the United States.
Among the releases issued in Japan was the Golden Series, issued in 1968, and which consisted of five different albums that were sold separately, rather than as a set:
- Pretend
- L-O-V-E
- Stardust
- It’s Only a Paper Moon
- Cachito
The first two volumes are fairly common, but the last three, and especially the Spanish-language volume five, are quite rare.
