Offered for sale is an original Japanese pressing of Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain, including the original obi, two booklets, and two 8″x10″ photos of the band.
About this copy: This copy of Nantucket Sleighride is a 1971 pressing on the Windfall label.
The cover is VG+, with slight edge and corner wear. The obi is VG+, with moderate foxing on the back and a date written in ballpoint pen on the back side.
The English lyric booklet is M-. The Japanese lyric booklet is VG++ with slight foxing. The original CBS-branded inner sleeve is included.
The two 8″x10″ (20cm x 25cm) photos are M-.
This album was issued without a standard lyric insert.
The disc is VG++ on side one, with a couple of faint scuffs. Side two is M-. Both labels have a few spindle marks.
A nice copy of an album that’s hard to find complete.
Background: Released in 1971, Nantucket Sleighride was the second studio album by Mountain.
The album reached #16 on the U.S. album charts and #43 in the UK.

Following the success of Climbing! and appearances at Woodstock and other outdoor festivals of the day, Mountain recorded more of the same for Nantucket Sleighride. The title track is a nice mixture of classical-leaning intertwined with moderate rock; both “Don’t Look Around” and “The Animal Trainer and the Toad” continue on the hard rock path so well-worn by this band. Not groundbreaking, but it is well worth listening to.
