Background: The Monkees Gift Pack was part of a series released in late 1973 in Japan by labels affiliated with or distributed by CBS. The series consisted of 2 disc compilation albums packaged in a box and usually including a poster.

The Monkees’ TV series was quite popular in Japan while airing as reruns in the early 1970s, and in 1973-1974, all of their albums were reissued in Japan.
