Offered for sale is a still sealed copy of the limited edition, 10 LP colored vinyl box set Classic Album Collection by the Monkees.

This set was released in the U.S. in 2016 for Record Store Day and limited to 3000 copies. The box includes all nine of the band’s original studio albums, plus a bonus disc of rare tracks that is unique to this set.

As the set is still sealed, the 10 albums inside are presumably new and unplayed.

The wrap is mostly intact; there is a small tear down the center of the front. The tear may have been made with a blade of some kind; there is a very faint cut in the box there. It’s very minor and so small that we almost missed it.

The box is a slipcase; the records slide in on the right side. Each album is packaged in a cover with the album’s original cover art.

A nice copy of a terrific Monkees set, and the first copy we’ve had for sale in several years.

Background: As a special item for Record Store Day 2016, Rhino Records created a limited edition of 3000 box sets containing all nine studio albums by the Monkees, plus a bonus disc of rare tracks.

All ten LPs were pressed on colored vinyl, and the box set was available for one day only and immediately sold out.

While these colored vinyl LPs have been issued separately, the bonus disc was available only in this set.
