Offered for sale is a scarce vinyl issue of Madonna’s 1992 release The Immaculate Collection, issued through the RCA/BMG Record Club.
About this copy: The copy offered for sale is a BMG Record Club issue, as indicated on the back cover. The cover is VG+, with traces of ring wear on the front cover. The discs are M- and appear to have had little, if any play. The original custom inner sleeves are included.
A terrific collection of pop tunes.
Background: Madonna had enough sway with her record company that she was able to continue to have her albums released in the United States on vinyl long after other artists were forced to go CD-only in the late 1980s. The Immaculate Collection, released in 1992, was her first compilation LP, containing 17 of her 1980s hits.
The album contains slightly altered versions of a number of songs; some have different fadeouts or run a bit faster or slower than their original versions. Still, it’s a great collection of tunes from one of the top artists of the past forty years and a surprisingly hard album to find on vinyl.
