Description
Offered for sale is a still sealed mono pressing of Lou Rawls Live! by Lou Rawls.
About this copy: This copy of Lou Rawls Live! is an original sealed 1966 U.S. mono pressing on the Capitol label. As the album is sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The wrap is fully intact, with no rips or tears. There is a clean punch hole in the upper right hand corner, likely indicating that this was a promotional copy.
A nice copy of a scarce Lou Rawls LP.
Background: Released in 1966, Lou Rawls Live! was the ninth LP by the pop/soul singer. The album included Rawls’ first chart single, “The Shadow of Your Smile.”
Allmusic.com gave Lou Rawls Live! a 4 star review:
Lou Rawls gives a riveting performance on Live!, covering standards from Basie/Rushing’s tambourine-jumpin’ “Goin’ to Chicago” to T-Bone Walker’s foot-stompin’ “Stormy Monday,” and whole lot in between. Each selection is as inviting as the next, featuring Tommy Short on piano solos on some. On finger-snappin’ numbers like “In the Evening When the Sun Goes Down” and “I’d Rather Drink Muddy Water,” the crooning baritone wails his way through the lyric.
