Description
Offered for sale is an unusual promotional copy of Loretta Lynn’s 1978 single, “We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby”, pressed as a 10″ single and cut at 78 RPM.
About this copy: The 10″ single is quite rare; we only know of one copy to be offered for sale anywhere in the past ten years. This copy is a very nice VG++, with just a couple of scuffs from the original paper sleeve. We’ve replaced that one with a low-friction, high quality Japanese plastic sleeve.
A beautiful copy of a very rare single.
Background: Loretta Lynn’s 1978 single “We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby”, backed with “I Can’t Feel You Anymore” was one of 23 top ten singles that the country legend released during the 1970s. While a number of promotional copies (and all stock copies) of the single were released as regular 7″, 45RPM records, a handful of singles were, for whatever reason, cut at 78 RPM in a 10″ size, although still in stereo. These records were issued to radio stations in plain paper sleeves.
