Description

Offered for sale is a still sealed promotional copy of the scarce third album by the Stone Poneys – the awkwardly-titled Linda Ronstadt, Stone Poneys and Friends, Volume 3.

About this copy: This copy of Linda Ronstadt, Stone Poneys and Friends, Volume 3 is an original 1968 U.S. pressing and is a promotional copy, with clean hole punched through the top right corner of the cover and inner sleeve.

This is a punched promotional hole, rather than a drilled hole indicating a cutout.

As the album is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.

The wrap is fully intact except for a 2″ break in the center of the top seam of the cover.  There is a small cover split there.  We’ve secured the wrap with tape to prevent further splitting.

A nice copy of a scarce Linda Ronstadt LP and the only sealed copy we’ve ever seen.

Background: Linda Ronstadt, Stone Poneys and Friends, Volume 3 was the third and final album by the Stone Poneys, and Linda Ronstadt would release her first solo album the following year.  It’s also the hardest of the three albums to find, as it was only in print for a short time.

Allmusic.com gave Linda Ronstadt, Stone Poneys and Friends, Volume 3 a 3 star review:

The Stone Poneys broke up during the recording of their final album, leaving Ronstadt to finish the work with various sessionmen (hence the billing “Stone Poneys & Friends”). It’s a solid effort, though, of decent if muted Californian folk-rock, with a laid-back (but not offensively so), carefully produced feel…. The inclusion of three Tim Buckley songs serves as evidence that Ronstadt was hipper than some of her detractors have made her out to be.
