Offered for sale is an original Japanese pressing of Linda Ronstadt’s 1976 LP, Hasten Down the Wind, complete with gatefold cover, original obi and lyric insert.
About this copy: The record is M-, and aside from a spindle mark or two on the label, looks to be unplayed. The cover is VG++, with just traces of wear at the edges. A nice copy of a terrific LP.
Background: Hasten Down the Wind was the seventh solo album by Linda Ronstadt, and it reached #3 on the U.S. charts and was certified platinum, helped by her #11 hit, “That’ll Be the Day.”
Again, Linda Ronstadt repeats her slick, Californian pop/country-rock formula on Hasten Down the Wind. When the material is first-rate — such as “That’ll Be the Day” or “Crazy” — Ronstadt’s performances are terrific, but on the subpar songs — such as the three Karla Bonoff numbers — she’s dragged down with her material.
