Description

Offered for sale is a rare Japanese pressing of Lesley Gore’s 1972 LP, Someplace Else Now, including the original lyric insert and a reproduction obi.

About this copy: The album offered for sale is a Japanese pressing of her 1972 LP, Someplace Else Now, recorded for the short-lived Motown subsidiary label called MoWest.  While the cover and (reproduction) obi say MoWest, the labels on the record actually say Tamla/Motown.

The disc is M-; it clearly has only been played once or twice.  The cover is VG+, with traces of wear and a 1″ split at the middle of the top cover.  The obi is a reproduction.

This is a particularly good pressing, by the way, and sounds terrific.

Background: While many of Lesley Gore’s 1960s LPs recorded for Mercury are fairly common, the two albums she recorded in the 1970s are particularly scarce.  While U.S. copies of those albums are hard to find, foreign pressings are particularly difficult.  In Japan, Lesley Gore was never particularly popular, and all of her records from that country are difficult to find today.
