Description
Offered for sale is a still sealed U.S. copy of the limited edition LP Better Than Live by Larry Coryell and the Brubeck Brothers.
About this copy: This copy of Better Than Live is a 1978 U.S. pressing on the Direct Disk Labs label.
As the album is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The wrap is fully intact with no rips, tears, or holes. There is a hype sticker on the cover that says “SUPER-DISK! This superb performance by LARRY CORYELL and the BRUBECK BROTHERS was recorded using advanced multi-track recording techniques pressed under laboratory grade conditions. The sound quality of this album is noticeably better than standard recordings.”
A nice copy of a scarce audiophile LP.
Background: Released in 1978, Better Than Live was a collaboration between jazz guitarist Larry Coryell and the Brubeck Brothers, sons of legendary pianist Dave Brubeck.
Allmusic.com gave Better Than Live this review:
Larry Coryell and the Brubeck Brothers (keyboardist Darius Brubeck, electric bassist Chris Brubeck and drummer Dan Brubeck) initially recorded these sessions for Direct Disk, though there is multi-tracking involved, so this isn’t actually a direct-to-disc recordings. … Although hardly essential to fans of Larry Coryell, this long out of print LP will be somewhat hard to find due to the label’s relatively short life.
