A still sealed original 1978 U.S. pressing of the double album Double Platinum by Kiss.

This item has been sold.

Offered for sale is a still sealed original U.S. pressing of the double album Double Platinum by Kiss.

About this copy: This copy of Double Platinum is a 1978 U.S. pressing on the Casablanca label.

As the album is still sealed, the records are presumably new and unplayed.  This set should include an order form for Kiss merchandise and a replica platinum record award (see image for example.)

The wrap is fully intact except for a small break and a bit of wear at the upper left-hand corner.  Otherwise, there are no tears, rips, or holes and the cover has no cutout marks.  This copy does not have a hype sticker on the wrap listing the song titles.

A terrific copy of an album that’s hard to find either complete or in good condition.

Background: Released in 1978, Double Platinum was the first compilation album by Kiss.

The album reached #22 on the U.S. album chart and was certified platinum (but not “double platinum”) by the RIAA. gave Double Platinum a 4 1/2 star review:

Double Platinum is a double-album, 20-track collection that gathers all of Kiss’ biggest hits (“Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Beth,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Calling Dr. Love,” “Love Gun”), but what makes it an essential retrospective and introduction is that it doesn’t overlook key album tracks and concert favorites like “Cold Gin,” “Deuce,” “Black Diamond,” and “She.”
