Allmusic.com gave The Best of Julie a 4 1/2 star review:
This LP has one selection apiece from 13 of Julie London’s earlier albums. Although she never thought of herself as a singer, London had a sensuous and surprisingly flexible voice that sounded at its best in intimate jazz settings. …This hard-to-find LP serves as a perfect introduction to the magic of Julie London’s music.
