Offered for sale is a sealed mono copy of Julie London’s 1963 LP, Latin in a Satin Mood.
More than a dozen years after her death, Julie London remains popular with collectors. Part of the appeal is undoubtedly the “cheesecake” covers that Liberty used for her albums, and she was attractive. She was also quite a good singer, and her LPs remain great examples of 1950s and 1960s pop.
Latin in a Satin Mood has long been her most sought-after LP, probably because it has what arguably may be described as her best cover ever. That’s saying a lot, given that she released some 30 albums in a span of 15 years. Even used copies often bring $100+ when they turn up for sale.
The copy offered for sale is a still sealed mono pressing, and unlike most copies offered for sale, this one does not have any drill holes or saw marks. The shrink wrap is fully intact and the record is assumed to be mint and unplayed. The front cover is gorgeous, though there is some soiling under the shrinkwrap on the back cover.
A beautiful copy of a record that rarely turns up sealed.
