Like most titles in the CBS Japan Mastersound series, this LP has been digitally remastered.

Two generic Mastersound catalogs are included. This copy also includes the rare postcard to sign up for the record company’s mailing list.
The disc is M- with a few spindle marks on the labels, but no marks on the vinyl. Clean disc!
A nice copy of a scarce Journey LP and the first copy we’ve had in quite a while.

The album reached #2 on the U.S. album charts and has sold more than six million copies.
In the early 1980s, CBS Records in the U.S. and Japan created a limited edition series of high quality audiophile pressings of then-new and older LPs that were pressed on premium vinyl and sold at a premium price.
In the U.S., most of the titles were half speed mastered. In Japan, most of the titles were digitally remastered pressings. The series did not last long and most titles were quickly discontinued. Frontiers was one of several Journey albums to be released as part of the series.
Allmusic.com gave Frontiers a four star review:
Frontiers managed to give Journey four Top 40 hits, with “After the Fall” and “Send Her My Love” both reaching number 23, “Faithfully” at number 12, and “Separate Ways” peaking at number eight — the same amount that 1981’s Escape brandished. While they tried to use the same musical recipe as Escape, Frontiers comes up a little short, mainly because the keyboards seem to overtake both Schon’s guitar playing and Steve Perry’s strong singing.
