A nice copy of a terrific album.
Background: The Jimi Hendrix film was a 1973 documentary that contained a number of live performances by Jimi, along with a number of interviews with famous musicians of the time.
The 2 LP soundtrack album contained all of the live performances featured in the film, though some of the material had already been previously released.
The album did not sell well, peaking at #89 on the U.S. albums chart.
According to Allmusic.com, As for the music, four tracks are from the Monterey Festival in June of 1967, “Johnny B. Goode” and “Purple Haze” come from Berkeley California, May 30, 1970, “Machine Gun II” is from the Band of Gypsies recorded December 31, 1969, with material also from Woodstock and the Isle of Wight festivals. There’s also a “Hear My Train A-Comin'” taped in London, 1967 by Jimi using a 12-string guitar.
