Offered for sale is a rare copy of the live/studio LP My God by Jethro Tull, pressed on green marbled vinyl.
About this copy: This copy of My God is a first pressing on the Athapascan label, pressed on rare green marbled vinyl. Most copies were either black vinyl or a solid color.
The cover is a plain white cover with a faintly rubber-stamped title. The cover is VG+, with slight wear near the mouth on both sides.
The marbled green vinyl disc is M- and clearly has had little, if any, play.
While this pressing was not issued with an insert, we’ve included a reproduction insert from a later pressing on the TMOQ label.
A beautiful copy of a record that rarely turns up in this condition or on marbled vinyl. Most copies have horribly worn covers and rough discs.
Background: My God was the fifth LP released by Dub and Ken, the founders of the Trademark of Quality label. At the time of this release, they were considering “Athapascan” as the name of their record company and used it on this release only before opting to go with “Trademark of Quality.”
First pressings of the LP were issued under the Athapascan name, with odd square labels. Later pressings were reissued on the TMOQ label.
Side one is live, with recordings taken from an April 19, 1970 performance at the Long Beach Arena in California; side two consists of studio recordings that were at that time unavailable in the United States.
- Sossity/Reasons for Waiting (live)
- My God! (live)
- Love Story (studio)
- Christmas Song (studio)
- 17 (studio)
