Offered for sale is a still sealed copy of the 3 LP, 45 RPM box set of Famous Blue Raincoat by Jennifer Warnes, released by Cisco Records as a numbered limited edition in 2007.

About this copy: This copy of Famous Blue Raincoat is the 20th anniversary pressing, issued by Cisco Records in a numbered, limited edition of 6000 copies.  This copy is #5266/6000.  The box set is still sealed; the records are presumably new and unplayed.  The wrap is fully intact.  There is a minor dent in the back of the box and a slight bend in the upper left hand corner of the front of the box.

The three 180 gram LPs were cut at 45 RPM for optimum sound quality.  This was the last title released by Cisco, a renowned audiophile label, before they went out of business in 2007.

A nice example of what may be the definitive pressing of this longtime audiophile favorite.

Background: Jennifer Warnes has had an eclectic career, releasing fewer than 10 albums in nearly 50 years of recording.  She’s probably best known for Famous Blue Raincoat, where she recorded an entire album of songs by Leonard Cohen. gave Famous Blue Raincoat 4 1/2 stars:

Jennifer Warnes was familiar with Leonard Cohen from a tour of duty as one of his backup singers in the early ’70s, but this collection of Cohen’s songs must have shocked her AM radio fans who knew her from her ’70s country-pop hits and her movie themes, if they were even able to connect the woman who sang “It’s the right time of the night for makin’ love” with the one who declared “First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin” over stinging guitar work by Stevie Ray Vaughan on the opening track here. As that pairing suggests, Warnes wisely took a tougher, more contemporary approach to the arrangements than such past Cohen interpreters as Judy Collins used to. … For Warnes, the album meant her first taste of real critical success: suddenly a singer who had seemed like a second-rate Linda Ronstadt now appeared to be a first-class interpretive artist.
